You’ve lived this long without a health coach, so why hire one now? ?That’s a good question.
First of all, why do we buy anything? ?To make our lives better, happier, easier. ?Think about a washing machine. ?It might not be what you want to spend your money on, but you will if it breaks down. ?The cost is usually between $300 and $1000. ?I think most of us would agree that spending a little more to get a machine that’s reliable is worth the cost. ?When you break it down, it averages out to $100 a year (with a life expectancy approx. 10 years), $8 a month or 28 cents a day. ?I’d happily pay 28 cents a day for an appliance that makes my life easier and better.
So why hire a health coach? ?Pretty much the same reasons – to make your life better and easier. ?The deck is stacked against us when it comes to maintaining good health. ?Here’s a few reasons why:
- Poor food quality
- Lots of temptations/bad habits (junk food, processed or fast food)
- Conflicting dietary information
- You’re too busy
- Putting everyone else’s needs before your own
When you hire a health coach, you’re investing in yourself. ?What you’ll get is:
- More energy
- A dietary plan that fits your lifestyle
- Sustainable weight loss
- Control over cravings
- More time for yourself
By the time your program is finished (most coaches offer 3, 6 or 12 month programs), you’ll have everything you need for the rest of your life. ?This is lifestyle management. ?If you spread the cost over 10 years it’s not much more than what you’d pay for a washing machine. ?Averaged out, it’s?about 41 cents a day. ?And the benefits will stay with you much longer than that. ?Think of it this way: What would you be willing to give up to have your own personal health coach? ?Your daily latte, lottery tickets or afternoon trip to the vending machine?
What happens if you don’t hire a health coach? ?You’re going to break down, and it’ll cost you a lot more than money to fix your problem. ?You’ll have to spend time going to doctors and specialists; copays for appointments and medications; out of pocket expenses; pain and possibly suffering.
How important is it to you to improve your health, reduce stress, increase your happiness, and take better care of yourself and your family? ?Only you can answer that. ?Be well : )
