No gas left in the tank

When a new client comes to my office for an appointment, we talk for a while about eating habits, sleep patterns, hot flashes, night sweats, cravings, excess weight, no time to exercise, her job, and family. Sadly, the daily challenges she experiences have become normalized by the fast-paced lifestyle of our world.

As we talk a little more, she shares parts of her life that seem like “no big deal.” She’s used to carrying the weight of an overscheduled life. Even though she realizes that what’s on her plate is exhausting mentally and physically, she can’t seem to slow down.
