Is Shakeology Safe for Pregnant and Nursing Moms?

Shakeology - Infinite Health & WellnessSo what’s the scoop? ?Can pregnant and nursing moms drink Shakeology? ?The physician and nutritionalist, Dr. William Wheeler, who helped formulate Shakeology?says, “absolutely, it is 100 percent safe for pregnant and nursing moms.”

And he should know. ?He’s?the senior author of numerous scientific publications as well as the recipient of three Presidential Awards for Excellence in Research. He has a BS and MS in nutrition (with honors) from the University of Georgia and a Ph.D. in nutrition (with honors) from Purdue University.

Dr. Wheeler explains that it is ALL NATURAL and made with over 70 different fruits and vegetables. There are no artificial ingredients. He considers it a holistic meal, and in fact, one of the best things pregnant and ?nursing moms can put in their bodies.

BE ADVISED:

Traditional medical doctors will probably discourage you from drinking Shakeology while pregnant or nursing. ?It’s not because they don’t believe it’s a healthy option. ?More likely, the won’t recommend it because they don’t know what’s in it. ?They don’t want to risk the health of their patients by endorsing a product they don’t know about. ?So they’ll probably tell you to wait until you’re through nursing your baby. ?And that’s ok because they’ve got your best interests at heart.

The good news is, you can be your own best advocate. ?Your doctor will most likely be happy to recommend Shakeology once they know what’s in it. ?As women, we have to stand confident in our beliefs and do what we know and feel is right. ?Doctors are only going to give a general “no” based on all “protein drinks” and this is not just any ole protein drink!

The ingredients for the Chocolate Superfood Shakeology can be found here. ?Read up on it and decide for yourself. ?Then share what you’ve learned with your doctor.

If you’re new to Shakeology, here’s what you can expect:

Most nursing moms may experience about one week of their baby being gassy and possibly fussy. ?I recommend the vegan formulation if your baby already shows sign of being gassy. ?It’s made with brown rice and pea protein rather than the traditional whey.

Anecdotally, the moms I queried said it passes within a week, and it actually helps keep the baby more regular than before she started drinking it. An added bonus is you can expect your baby to like fruits and veggies a whole lot more as they grow up! ?Be well.
