If you’re like me, you have a to-do list that’s longer than there are hours in a day. ?The harder we try to check things off the list, the more stressed we get. ?And at the end of a long day, week, month and year – how satisfied are we that we’ve accomplished a multitude of tasks?
The answer? Not very.
We’re missing a key element to the human experience by striving for something that has very little meaning in the grand scheme of things. ?What is it? Interaction with each other.
If you want time to slow down – reach out and touch someone. ?Call on a sick friend. ?Bake a cake for a new neighbor. ?Pick up the phone, and call a loved one. ?Play ball with your dog. ?Read a book to your child. ?Give your spouse a long, lingering hug.
Running from task to task is like having a slow developing disease. ?Every day it leeches a little more life from you. ?Each time you choose to make time for really living, you have an opportunity to feel alive. ?To really live. ?What do say … Do you have the time? ?Be well.
