Sorry Darling, There Is No Destination

I imagine you’re thinking …

What in the world is she talking about?
How can there be no destination?

I’ve been thinking a lot about this lately. How much we miss by rushing from one thing to the next. It doesn’t seem to matter if it’s work or play.

I’m sure I have hundreds of examples, but what came to mind while I was noodling this was the two years I spent studying to become an acupressure therapist. Acupressure is one of the most amazing therapies available to us.?And I rushed right through the entire program!?I couldn’t wait to be finished so I could check that task off my list.

My older, wiser, self has since said to me,
“What? Seriously??Why would you rush through something like that?

What about enjoying the moment, loving each and every class, the time spent with teachers and classmates, or the privilege of learning something for the sheer joy of it?

It’s not like I was in a class for waste management (no offense?meant, I’m sure that’s very exciting for some people).

The point is you can make it to the finish line at the end of the race, or collect your diploma at the podium?but without appreciating what it took to get from Point A to Point B?the victory is hollow.

There is no destination without the journey. It’s what shapes?us and makes up the rich tapestry of our lives. Enjoy the process. The finish line will be so much sweeter if you do!

Do you have a major milestone in your life that you raced through? Please share your story below. Together we can bring awareness back to its rightful spot?every step of the way of our journey.?
